The Asia Pacific Indigenous Youth Network says: “We want System Change, not Climate Change! We want people-oriented Climate Justice, not market-oriented Climate Policy that sold our Land, our Resources, our Livelihoods, our Culture and our Future!”
An idea for an online campaign to demand for a just climate policy and the realization of the rights of Indigenous Peoples was thus developed at the Asia Pacific Climate Youth Camp, 3-5 November 2010, Baguio City, the Philippines by the participating Indigenous youth from 12 Asian and Pacific countries.
The campaign calls for the wider involvement of Indigenous Peoples in decision-making processes, and the recognition and protection of Indigenous Peoples’ rights in all climate change relevant negotiations and policies.
