After many appeals and postponements, Yong has used all his appeals after the Singapore Court of Appeal reserved judgement on his case and he could be hanged anytime – but there is still little hope.
YOU(th) can take action and call on the Singaporean authorities to stop his execution!
He was only a teenager when he was found guilty of carrying 47g of heroin from Malaysia into Singapore and was sentenced to death in January 2009.
In Singapore there is a mandatory death sentence for all drug trafficking cases involving more than 30g of heroin leaving judges no discretion to consider factors such as age, background of the offender or other special circumstances.
Got 3 seconds? Sign a petition (or both)!
- Call on Singapore’s President to reconsider Yong’s clemency and commute his death sentence
- Urge Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah to press Singaporean President Nathan to reconsider Yong’s clemency and commute his death sentence
Got 3 minutes? Appeal for Yong Vui Kong in your own words!
- Urge Singapore’s President to reconsider Yong Vui Kong’s clemency petition and commute his death sentence, which was mandatorily imposed
- Urge Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah to press Singaporean President Nathan to reconsider Yong Vui Kong’s clemency petition and commute his death sentence

CALL ON SINGAPOREAN PRESIDENT TO RECONSIDER YONG’S CLEMENCY AND COMMUTE HIS DEATH 呼吁新加坡总统改判其死刑Dear President Nathan, I am appalled by the news that Singapore’s Court of Appeal reserved judgement on Yong Vui Kong’s case. His counsel had appealed for his execution to be stayed on the grounds that he had been denied a fair clemency process. Since Singapore imposes a mandatory death sentence for all drug trafficking offences involving more than 30g of heroin leaving judges no discretion to consider factors such as age, the background of the offender or other mitigating circumstances, Yong was sentenced to death when he was found guilty of carrying 47g of heroin from Malaysia into Singapore. He was only 19 years old when he committed the crime. I urge to you to grant Yong Vui Kong clemency and commute his death sentence to a prison sentence.
URGE MALAYSIAN FOREIGN MINISTER ANIFAH TO PRESS SINGAPOREAN PRESIDENT NATHAN TO RECONSIDER YONG’S CLEMENCY AND COMMUTE HIS DEATH SENTENCE呼吁马来西亚外长向新加坡总统施压,要求他改判其死刑Dear Foreign Minister Anifah, I am appalled by the news that Singapore’s Court of Appeal reserved judgement on Yong Vui Kong’s case. His counsel had appealed for his execution to be stayed on the grounds that he had been denied a fair clemency process. Last July, when Malaysian officials called on Singapore to spare Yong Vui Kong’s life, you announced, “I will be writing to the government of Singapore to plead for his clemency.” I urge to you to press Singaporean President Nathan to reconsider Yong Vui Kong’s clemency petition and commute his death sentence.

Please save Yong Vui Kong!!!!
He does not deserve to lose his life over this.
Save Yong Vui Kong, Save Many !!!!
No! He can’t be save. He will lead to more offenders in drug trafficking and more will suffer, more will be into drug abuse. Not saving life.
What do other people think?
Let me just say this:
Read his story first before you comment such barbaric words about Vui Kong.
He did NOT know he was selling drugs. There is a difference between a drug trafficker and a drug mule.
Vui kong was a drug mule NOT a trafficker there for, he had no idea (because he was not allowed to look inside the “gifts”) that he was trafficking drugs.
HE WOULD HAVE NEVER DONE THAT.
ALSO:
Vui Kong has STATED and PROMISED that he would FIGHT the war on drug trafficking and drug mules being recruited NOW and if he got saved! SO, more lives WOULD be saved!
BUT, to say that any life should be taken ESPECIALLY Yong Vui Kong’s being that he had no idea and his intentions were to save his family, its absolutely inhumane, disgusting and just wrong on SO MANY LEVELS.
By saying he deserves to die is as bad as killing him your self. It’s murder and he never murdered anyone! Your not “God” nor is anyone else. To kill someone who kills someone (in VK’s case, tries to save someone), Just to show that killing is wrong.. MAKES NO SENSE!
IT’S MURDER and if the MDP works, drug trafficking would have slowed down by now but the truth is, yesterday another case has just opened up. So, it’s a waste of a precious, irreplaceable, helpless life.
MULES like Yong Vui Kong are forced, tricked, seduced, and sometimes beat. They come from low income families, the streets, no schooling background, abusive situations, etc. Who are taken advantage of by these “bosses” so they can make a profit.
Instead of going after the victims, go after the Kingpin, the real criminal here. Tat is what will end this “war” on drugs and trafficking.
Oh, and grow a heart and have some humanity please.
For not only my friends brother VK’s sake but for yourself and the world.
