Current Action – Take Action to Protect the Rights of Indigenous People in Orissa, India

An ongoing legal challenge over plans for a bauxite mine in the Niyamgiri Hills might threaten the rights of the Dongria Kondh (Indigenous Peoples inIndia) who live there. The proposed project would violate their rights as an indigenous community to water, food, health, work and their cultural values and identity – not to mention that the Indian authorities didn’t ask for their consent or give them any information about it!

Aksi saat ini – Beraksilah untuk melindungi hak masyarakat adat di Orissa, India
Tantangan hukum saat ini di atas rencana pertambangan bauksit di bukit Niyamgiri akan mengancam hak Dongria Kondh (masyarakat adat India) yang hidup di sana. Proyek ini akan melanggar hak mereka sebagai komunitas adat atas air, makanan, kesehatan, pekerjaan dan juga nilai serta kebudayaan adat mereka – tidak terlepas dari pemerintah India yang tidak meminta mereka atas ijin atau memberi mereka informasi apapun yang terkait!
