The APYN Youth Ambassador initiative is a leadership learning and networking opportunity for young people in Asia Pacific who want to develop their leadership skills with APYN and campaigns for social change.
Over an 18 month period, you will work with young human rights activists/advocates/interested individuals from across the Asia Pacific Region to develop your own projects in one of the following streams: 1) Local Community; 2) Regional Campaign; and 3) Online Facilitation.
How do YOU(th) apply? (Application Requirements)
1. Read the overview of the initiative again to get a clear understanding, especially the different project streams and what is expected from you as a Youth Ambassador.
2. All Local Community and Regional Campaign project applicants are required to have support from a local community organization. Find an organization that will mentor and support you at the local level for 18 months! Click here for detailed information about local community organizations. Support from a community organization/partner is recommended but not required for Online Facilitation project applicants.

3. Complete the application form below. The deadline for application is 10 April 2012 11:30pm Hong Kong time. Incomplete applications and ones submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

Hi, I am really interested in applying for this, currently I do not have an organisation. What are your advice on looking for one?
My action that I want to take for human rights is mentoring high school students so that they are more educated and can contribute towards society and towards developing countries. Is this too indirectly linked to be considered a project that fits within the scope of APYN?
Thank You
Hello Ctee,
Thanks for getting in touch with us! Your action idea sounds great!
Are you currently involved or volunteering with any organizations? That may be a good way to start! Explain to them what the Youth Ambassador initiative is, share your action idea, and tell them briefly what they have to do to support you. We are not asking for financial support, but just some assistance and strategic advice on the local community level. You may find this document – http://www.apyouth.net/wp-content/uploads/YA_partorgs.pdf – useful when you speak to them!
Hope this is helpful! If not, leave us a comment here anytime and we’ll try to get back to you as soon as possible!
Thanks,
APYN
HeY! It’s a great initiative. Would love to apply for it. Though I have no prior experience to work for Youth Development. Currently I’m engaged with an international organization in my country and also doing my study in a university. I think university fellows could be my platform to disseminate the information. My passion is to work on Women empowerment as you know women of Asia are in vulnerable position. Looking forward for your feedback.
Hello SJ,
Please send in your application! The deadline is tomorrow (Tuesday, 10 April, 2012)!!
Thanks,
APYN
Its really nice watching this platform which will provide us, the youth, an nice opportunity to express us and our dreams of change as well. But unfortunately, i have come to know regarding this platform late and the application deadline is over, which is really sad for me. Because i have been looking for such platform from last 1year to work with and to represent in my community.
What can i do now to become the representative or the ambassador? Or is there anyway to practice the leadership from this platform?
To inform, i have attended the Bangladesh Youth Leadership Summit on April 26-18, 2012, organized by Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center.
Please your response will be nice to me.
Thanks

Hello! Thanks for getting in touch! Your interest in APYN is very inspiring and there are many many ways to get involved. Is there something (a human rights theme or activism skill)you are particularly interested in? Thanks!
Hello! Is there a way for me to still apply as an APYN Ambassador? I just read about this website now and I really wanted to join with your cause. Do you have another date or another cycle for APYN youth ambassador applications?
Hello Lloyd,
Thank you for your interest! This cycle of Youth Ambassadors is until December 2013 so we don’t anticipate running another cycle before that. However, if you are interested, the selected Youth Ambassadors will develop interesting and exciting human rights projects that you could get involved in! Besides, the Youth Ambassador initiative is only one way to participate in APYN, you could organize other human rights activities which would allow you to develop campaigning and leadership skills! Here’s an example of how you could get involved now: http://bit.ly/Jr6IZS
You can join APYN here – http://bit.ly/fXa2LA – so we can get in touch with you! And if you can’t wait to take action for human rights, here’s a quick one online that will only take 3 seconds: http://bit.ly/Jr6IZS
Don’t forget to like us on Facebook – http://www.facebook.com/apyouth!
Thanks!
