Ankur, Nepal
I am Ankur from Nepal. I am 23 years old. I am a student at the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Sciences, pursuing B. Sc in Agriculture and in my final year.

I am very much excited that I will be working with youths outside my country. Moreover I am very much excited to work on a new platform with new organizations and more responsibilities.

Crystal, Hong Kong
Hi this is Crystal and I’m from Hong Kong! In the past, I’ve engaged in student activism and local movements and always believe in the power of people in achieving social changes. I’m hoping to broaden my horizon and explore international issues, I went for an international working partner programme and have interned at an NGO in Manila, Philippines for 6 months after graduating from university. I want to further expose myself with regional issues and develop campaigning skills and work with aspiring young friends from the region and that’s why I want to be an APYN Youth Ambassador!

Being in the APYN Youth Ambassador programme provides me a precious opportunity to strengthen my leadership and practical campaigning skills and to work with other Youth Ambassadors to push forward social changes!

Dalin, Cambodia
My name is Dalin. I am 19 years old and from Cambodia. Currently, I am a second year student, pursing bachelor of law in two programs simultaneously, which one is conducted in my language, Khmer, and another one is in English. I have no job at this time.

Being a Youth Ambassador, the thing that I am most excited about is that I have chance to involve in making impact to my society as well as the world to be a better place to live in. Furthermore, I can officially promoting the human right which every individual, include me, is deserved to have. I am also excited that I can work with people from different culture who are ready to share their experiences.

Handa, Indonesia
Hello, my name is  Handa. I am 23 years old, Indonesian, and got my bachelor degree in Education last year. People noticed me as an easy going person, humorous, and easily laugh. Currently, I am a National Coordinator of Aliansi Remaja Independen and Youth Advisory Panel UNFPA Indonesia. In my leisure time, I usually hang out with my friends, travel to another city, go fishing, and snorkel. A quote of my life is “treat people just like you want people treat you”.

The most excited about being a Youth Ambassador is that I will widen my network as an individual and organizationally as well, learn how to use the human rights framework in advocating Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, learn more about campaigning and advocating rights, join a regional network, and meet many young people from different backgrounds.

I’m Ganaa, from Mongolia. I’m 22 years old. Now I’m working as an entertainment manager in CIS-Mongolia. I have a grunge rock band and play solo guitar.

I’m excited to have this great chance to develop my facilitatory skills and participating in regional human right projects.

Indira, Nepal
I am Indira Regmi of 23 years old. I am from Nepal. I am a student of Bachelor of business administration(BBA) final semester, besides this I have worked as an executive committee member of  Alternatives Nepal.

I am very excited to being a youth ambassador because I was able to explore my creativity to APYN and I have given a golden opportunity to work about human rights with different people of Asia. Me being a youth I feel proud to work with youth network.

Jasmine, Fiji

My name is Jasmine and currently I am engaged in LGBTIQ activism in my home country Fiji. I am also the founder of Oceania Pride an organization that is currently undergoing registration process as an NGO. I have done volutarism work for almost ten years with breaks in various areas.

I am 27 years old and havent finished my college education. After completing high school I joined the workforce whilst juggling volutarism at the same time.

I identify myself as a sexual diverse person and strongly belive that LGBTIQ rights shouldn’t be denied to us in Fiji as we are equal citizens and need to be provided our human right.

I am excited to meet all other fellow ambassadors and know them better. Im looking forward to networking and sharing ideas and strategies to make my work more effective. Working with other youths will give me a more clear and compressed approach on various issues and problems and ways to be able to engage in activism without being to direct or aggressive.

Joynul, Bangladesh
The greatest thing ever I did was to believe on my own inner strengths and chose the ways what I thought myself best. I did what my heart loved and wanted to do. I took suggestions from my mentors and teachers to think and judge whether I was right or wrong in some ways in my decisions, but finally I went with my own heart-beeps. It was really a rewarding thing to shape my ways of thinking when I got chance to admit into a special training on Leadership and community services skills at Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC) with full scholarship from US Embassy Dhaka on 2010-11. The training was really helpful to my further works as well as establishing a voluntary youth organization named International Youth Council Bangladesh (IYCB). Being the founding chair of IYCB, I feel proud to have a successful period in accomplishing the projects and events like Green Channel, World Food Day Events, Youth Marking 7 Billion Actions, Anuvob; Spread the Warmth.. and Celebrating Victory Through Volunteerism (CVTV) etc partnering with various youth groups in the country. I served IYCB as its founding chair from March, 2011 to May, 2012 and now I just have been appointed as the Youth Ambassador for Asia Pacific Youth Network (APYN) for next 18 months.

Being with all these humanitarian works along with my studies; a question is still alive in my mind that -What is the most valuable thing that a man can achieve in his life? Is it the chair he posses, the power he holds or the cash he earned? I think none of them are much important but these may be helpful in achieving one’s goal in his life. Running after the chair, power or cash always
delude us from our own true spirit of life. I think the power, money and the fame are just the means not the ends. The ends are to be with one’s life dedicating it towards others by which we can only be happier than any other ways we can. The thing I found most valuable throughout my life are some ‘wonderful memories’; only the memories being with people touching their
lives, with myself indeed. From the very beginning of my life I was so frustrated in searching the root causes and destiny of my life. Everything I tried for arranging my life was seemed meaningless to me and found no further interest working on that. At last I realized that all my life is meaningless unless I add some value in it. That value can only be added by achieving some ‘true memories’ that makes one happy even in his last moment of the life. At present I am no more with the chairmanship of IYCB and have just been appointed as Youth Ambassador at Asia Pacific Youth Network (APYN), what works for human rights in asia pacific regions. I am excited to think this involvement with APYN will definitely add some value to my current thinking with some true memories from my upcoming works prevailing human rights in my country.

Karl, Malaysia
I’m Karl, age 22 from Malaysia, and I’m currently studying law and in the name of love and humanity, I hope soon, everyone will realize that human rights are not what other can take from us, it’s a part from us as humans. In the name of love and humanity.

I’m excited to be exposed to a wider network of human right activists. It’s about networking and cooperating.

Regina, Indonesia
I’m Regina from Indonesia. I’m 21 years old, and currently studying English Literature. I’m an active youth social activist and my goal is to be a part of a huge change, for a better generation!

What definitely excites me the most is having the opportunity of being able to actually make a change and case in defending Human Rights in my region! I can’t wait to meet lots of inspiring people and gain awesome experience in youth activism.

Ryan, South Korea
My name is Ryan, turning 18 in 2months, and living in South Korea. For the past four years, I have been doing a variety of activities considering young North Korean defectors, as a leading member of an organization, in dedication to aiding them in the sense of entrenching their rights as global citizens.

I am excited that now I will be able to facilitate my involvement with APYN as a chance for encountering and transacting with those that have the same interests and goals as me.   

Saba, Pakistan
Saba, a feminist and working for the empowerment of young women. I have done my Master of Science in Biotechnology from COMSATS Institute of Information Technology. At the age of 15, with other young women fellows I initiated “Aware Girls”; a young women led organization working for empowering young women by strengthening the leadership capacity of young women enabling them to work for social change and women empowerment, and advocate for equal access of women  to health, education, governance, political participation, and other social services. My key working areas are Combating Violence against Women, Strengthening Leadership Skills among Young Women, Political Participation of Young Women, HIV/AIDS Prevention among Girls and Women, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Safe Abortion, and Peace.

I have received an award from “The British High Commission in Islamabad”, for contributing one of the most inspiring stories and have represented the Civil Society for the first time in the “Informal Interactive Hearing of the General Assembly with non Governmental Organizations, Civil Society and the Private Sector” in United Nations Headquarters in New York in June, 2010.

I am very excited to be part of the Asia Pacific Youth Network Youth Ambassador Program to learn, share and practice!
